Calling your opponents bluff online at pkr.com differs slightly from live poker in that you have no physical signs or signals to use as you cannot see your opponent.

Click here to create your own account.

This doesn’t mean you cannot tell what your opponent has however, you just have to use the tells available to you as best you can.

The main things I always use when judging if a player is bluffing or not online, are their betting patterns and previous record. If a player has been caught bluffing or shown a bluff twice in the past five hands for instance they may well be bluffing while playing at www.pkr.com.

There is one thing to be wary of here though, players who advertise bluffs will ofen do so to stimulate action on later poker hands where they have made a hand, so be careful. Betting patterns are usually a good indication, if off suited low cards fall on the flop and an opponent has raised considerably preflop then they may well have two high ranked cards which have not paired.

Often this player will try and win the pot by bluffing despite the fact that their hand missed, because the pot is big enough to try and risk a steal.

There is a chance though that they had a high pocket pair, but as with anything in online poker, nothing is a certainty and you must use your reads well. Sometimes a tester re-raise can pick up the pot, or if you feel you have made by far the best of it, smooth call and hope they bet out again on the next card.

Whatever you choose to do at pkr.com, always take careful note of the way a player is playing. If they are aggressive and loose do not attach as much strength to their raises.

If a player has been supertight, you can expect to be up against a stronger hand. This and betting patterns should be more than enough to form an opinion of whether an opponent is bluffing or not.

Click here to try your skills at www.pkr.com

PKR.com is definately one of the up and coming, state of the art poker sites and the poker playing experience they have put together is more than just an eye catching one.

REGISTER NOW!

PLAY HERE!

www.PKR.com offer a first time bonus of 100% if you are one of those who wish to make a larger deposit up to $600. There are also smaller bonuses of 50% for those who stick to the smaller budgets.

Alongside this good starting bonus is the offer of a free poker strategy book once 3,000 points have been accumulated. If you are a new player you are given entrance to a $1,000 welcoming freeroll too which is one of many freerolls the site runs on a day to day basis.

The player traffic on PKR.com is building nicely, after the initial period of slower player movement onsite which is as expected. These days a player joining up can expect to get a game quite easily though. One huge plus point of www.PKR.com is the graphics set up, the site has obviously gone out to create a poker playing experience unlike any other and it has done well with this too.

There are several different animated avatars that can be selected and tweaked towards a particular players personal inclinations. All of these animations and graphics are delivered in a realistic 3D experience which adds so much to an already well developed and run site.

Live support is responsive and helpful with withdrawal waiting being short too. If I were to try and find fault with somthing on PKR.com then I might point to the lack of game diversity as something that could be worked on, but on the whole PKR.com is an excellent poker site to be a part of, and play your poker on.

There is a real feel on this site I find, of online poker play being taken to the next level technologically and it is certainly worth taking the time to learn more about for any players who enjoy the online poker experience.

www.paddypowerpoker.com brings you this great strategy guide on checking during a poker game.

As we all know "checking" means you do not want to bet at that point, no matter how you check, or even if you pull your best "don’t mess with me" face, while your checking, it is still going to be seen as a sign of weakness in your hand. For me I only really check a hand if I?m either ready to throw it away when someone raises, or if I’m setting a trap, I certainly feel it is most often a bad move when you are drawing to a big hand. As tempting as might be with one card needed to make a flush, to sit there and think, "I’ll check and with any luck the other players will too" well, It might work when your sitting round the table at home with some friends or family, but it is extremely unlikely to when you are faced with some serious poker players.

In that position of needing one card to make a very big hand, I sometimes like to put in a smaller bet, if I am called by a player and I miss my flush, I often make a larger raise if I feel my opponent is weak. Often you will find that the second bet to compound the information given by the first, that being that you raised fairly small because you have a hand and want to keep the other player in the pot, will convince players more of your strength.

The second bigger bet is sure to scare your opponent off quite often if their hand wasn?t strong enough to reraise you on the first bet. If of course your opponent calls this larger bet, then you go to the river with the following things in your favour, you have taken your big draw to the river and may have just made your hand.

If you miss and decide to make one last bluff at the pot then your previous bets gaining in size show significant strength in your opponents mind, and better your odds of such a move working, although it’s very risky considering the first two calls. The important thing to remember if you do decide to check your hand instead of betting it at any time, is that it shows weakness, you can use this to your advantage too though given the right situation.

There are many good points to talk about with fulltilt poker, firstly their excellent loyalty scheme in place which not only gives the player points to use for specific tournament buy ins, but also offers chances to huge monthly freerolls depending on your personal level.

Added to this is a chance for the winners of these tournaments to go on to play for greater additional prize pools too against each other and professional players too. being a very big name in online poker sites the traffic on the site is always good and you should never struggle to find a game, whatever level your poker skill happens to be at.

Also on offer are satellites to major tournaments, both onsite and live too, as well as a host of other promotions, freerolls, and the usual first deposit bonuses. Several well known poker professionals are also sponsored by the site which shows fulltiltpoker.com to be one of the forerunners of the online poker playing sites, and the reasons for this are pretty clear.

In terms of graphics and the look of the site www.fulltiltpoker.com is as good as anywhere else online, the gameplay is great too, and the aforementioned bonuses and freerolls are always there to help get the new players started.

Overall, a very good site to play your poker on, as pros such as Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson, along with thousands of other players who play at fulltilt poker im sure, would be quick to agree.

Firstly I must congratulate Poker Stars on a loyalty scheme which I feel is second to none. The system itself is easily accessible to the player onsite, showing updates of both VPP’s and FPP’s. www.pokerstars.com

These are poker stars points earned in tandem with one another as players pay tournament entry fees and of course keep the rake happy during the cash games. The VPP’s are essentially what is accumulated through real money play, and are used to determine a player’s VIP status on site.

The higher this poker stars level is (there are 6 in total) the more poker stars FPP points are earned too. FPP points can subsequently be used in the onsite shop, which I was delighted to see was not constrained to mere poker playing equipment, but offered many things from books and clothing through to electrical goods and of course poker playing accssesories too.

The average poker stars player of course is unlikely to reach the highest levels of VIP status, as we all have jobs and suchlike to prevent us from playing our beloved game on a constant basis, however the lower levels of the VIP system still offer the more leisurely player excellent rewards for their continued loyalty. Alongside the rewards stated above there are also good value tournaments which can be taken advantage of by those with the required status, and the site even includes a calculator into which the player can input his/her poker playing habits and gain a forecast of poker stars VPP’s accumulated, and the particular VIP level that would be earned.

All these things combine to make what I found poker stars to be an easy to use, generous, well structured loyalty bonus system which has to be one of the best, if not the best in online poker. www.pokerstars.com

www.fulltiltpoker.com poker si one of the best sites still taking USA poker players. Why are they doing this despite the recent law changes to online gambling and poker in the US… well my guess is that www.fulltiltpoker.com see poker as a true game of skill rather than the thinking that poker os a game of chance.

Now to me I think well I just want to play poker.. so here I am telling you about www.fulltiltpoker.com

Another great thing about Full Tilt is that their software really rocks… not only for PC users but if you want to play poker on a mac then you can do so. Many onlone poker sites don’t give mac players an options so it is really good if you have a mac to be able to play mac poker at full tilt.
